Project Background

A customer’s existing crushing system consisted of a jaw crusher, a cone crusher, and an impact crusher for processing medium‑hard stone. Over long‑term operation, the customer found that the impact crusher generated a large amount of recirculating material – commonly referred to as “guami stone” in the industry – with particle sizes mainly in the 5‑10 mm range. This stone chip fraction could not be further processed by the existing equipment, leading to long‑term stockpiling that occupied valuable site space and caused resource waste, directly affecting the overall efficiency and raw material utilisation of the production line. The customer urgently needed a cost‑effective solution to convert this recirculating material into marketable manufactured sand.

Equipment Selection

Based on the customer’s actual needs, the Huashengming technical team conducted a detailed assessment of the site conditions. Considering the relatively high hardness and fairly uniform particle size of guami stone, the team recommended the 2PGY1000×1000 fully hydraulic roll crusher as the core processing unit. This model operates on the dual‑roll compression principle, with a hydraulic system providing stable crushing force and allowing real‑time adjustment of the roll gap for precise control of output particle size. The unit is equipped with two high‑power motors and gear reducers, ensuring stable and efficient operation under continuous working conditions.

Solution Approach

The solution proposed by Huashengming was not to replace the entire existing system, but to achieve maximum value with minimal changes. Specifically, the plan was to install the fully hydraulic roll crusher at the downstream end of the existing production line, dedicated to processing the guami stone recirculated from the impact crusher and further reducing it to finished sand below 3 mm. This approach required a modest investment with quick returns, without the need for major modifications to the original equipment, thereby enabling effective utilisation of the recirculated material.

Results

Customer site

After commissioning, the previously stockpiled guami stone was continuously converted into high‑quality manufactured sand, improving the raw material utilisation rate of the production line. At the same time, the roll crusher effectively controlled the stone powder content in the finished sand and optimised the particle size gradation, resolving the grading gap that had existed in the previous product. The market adaptability of the final product was significantly improved. The customer expressed satisfaction with the operational stability of the equipment and the overall retrofitting outcome.

Summary

This case demonstrates that Huashengming’s fully hydraulic roll crusher can be flexibly integrated into an existing production line to effectively process hard guami stone material without major system overhauls, helping customers solve gradation defects and improve resource utilisation. This solution offers a viable technical pathway for sand‑making enterprises facing similar recirculating material challenges.
