The HPGR operates using two counter-rotating rolls made of ultra-high-strength, wear-resistant alloy. Material is fed evenly into the crushing gap and subjected to extreme hydraulic pressure (up to 6 MPa). Instead of single-particle impact, particles crush each other within a densely packed bed – this is interparticle crushing.
