A sand plant customer in Shandong Province is mainly engaged in producing manufactured sand from high-hardness granite. To control initial investment, the customer purchased a second-hand crushing unit last year.
However, problems emerged immediately after commissioning. The second-hand equipment suffered severe wear and high failure rates when processing granite, making shutdowns routine. Beyond rising parts and labor costs, the finished sand often had unstable particle size and excessive flakiness, failing to meet ready-mix plant standards. This severely constrained capacity and profitability. The recurring breakdowns made the customer realize that reliability is far more critical than initial cost in hard rock sand-making.
