Four-roll crusher
The project is located in South Africa, processing coal with a feed size of ≤100mm and a discharge size requirement of ≤5mm. The unit features an upper toothed roll and lower smooth roll configuration, equipped with a custom voltage motor adapted to South Africa’s local power supply, eliminating the need for additional transformers and simplifying on-site electrical integration.
The 4PGT0404 four-roll crusher adopts a four-roll, two-stage crushing structure. Material is first coarse-crushed by the upper rolls, then fine-crushed by the lower rolls—two crushing stages in a single pass, eliminating the need for secondary crushing equipment. The upper toothed rolls provide strong material grip for effective feeding of large coal blocks, while the lower smooth rolls apply precise compression to control discharge size to ≤5mm, meeting the customer’s process requirements. The roll gap is adjustable to flexibly control product size for different downstream coal specifications, and the unit handles varying moisture content without clogging.

Equipment supplied includes the 4PGT0404 four-roll crusher main unit, custom voltage motor (matched to South Africa’s local voltage), control cabinet with cables, and spring or hydraulic protection devices.
After commissioning at the customer’s South Africa site, the equipment has operated stably. Raw coal feed of 100mm, processed through the two-stage four-roll crushing system, is consistently reduced to below 5mm. The toothed/smooth roll combination delivers both crushing efficiency and size accuracy, with low over-grinding and minimal fines generation, fully meeting the customer’s coal particle size requirements. The customer reported stable operation, low failure rates, and easy maintenance.
